The information provided by the National Joint Registry of England and Wales (NJR) may help the DePuy hip replacement plaintiffs on their charges against the company.

On July 23, 2012, as approved by NJR, US District Court Judge David A. Katz directed DePuy Orthopaedics Inc. to permit plaintiffs to access the artificial joint registry information, with restrictions. Katz is the one who oversees the DePuy ASR multidistrict litigation meeting (MDL).

Previous news reports discussed about DePuy communicating with the plaintiffs. The company has initiated contact with patients who received defective implants, offering them reimbursements for any losses incurred due to the defective hip devices.

However, law groups advice the affected patients to consult legal experts on their course of action regarding the DePuy hip replacement system.
